The app isn't showing any signal.
Make sure microphone access is enabled: iOS Settings → SoundCheck RTA → Microphone.
If you're on the "File" source, switch back to "Live".
How accurate is the SPL reading?
Phone microphones are not calibrated instruments, so SPL is approximate. Use the Calibration
slider to match a known reference meter for closer results. File analysis shows a relative
level rather than an absolute SPL.
Which external mics / interfaces work?
USB-C and Lightning audio interfaces and measurement mics are supported. Connect the
device, then pick it in the input selector.
Does the app record or upload my audio?
No. Audio is analyzed live on your device and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
